Here's some ideas to get you going. They are from The Slow Down site.
1. Have a cup of tea, put your feet up and stare out of the window. Warning: don’t try this while driving.
2. Spend some quality time in the bathtub.
3. Write down these words and place them where you can see them, “Multitasking is a Moral Weakness.”
4. Try to do only one thing at a time.
5. Do not be pushed into answering a question right away. Take your time.
6. Try the “One Minute Slow Exercise.” *
7. Yawn often. Medical studies have shown lots of things and possibly that yawning may be good for you.
8. Have some more tea. Tea is the drink of the slow.
9. Sign up for more stories at www.slowdownnow.org and www.teamadness.com. That’s all it takes to join the slow lifestyle movement.
10. Take a nap and spend at least an hour extra in bed. You deserve it. If you need help getting out of bed, then read this.
*Slow down for just one minute. If you are walking, slow down the pace. If you are driving, ease up on the pedal. Slow down your rate of speech. Did you notice anything different?
Annie Porthouse: "walking rather than driving is a great way to slow down... it's easier to thank God for his creation when you're walking by it... and saferthan doing so whilst driving! Still, this only applies if your destination is within walking distance, of course."
Veronica Zundel: "Creating pauses between activities might be a good way of reducing the rush. Also, maybe taking more public transport, allowing more time to get somewhere."
Karin: "Reading an (improving) book, being creative with cross stitch or some other gentle craft of your choosing, some slow gardening once the evenings get lighter, or ironing with some relaxing music - these could be "slow" things to do without doing nothing."
